Role Summary

You will deliver a specialist, individually tailored package of assessment, monitoring, and early intervention using the Portage model for pre-school children aged 0-4 years with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND). Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of children and their families.
  • Conducting developmental assessments.
  • Providing resources, materials, and equipment for educational activities.
  • Maintaining electronic records and contributing to multi-agency meetings.
  • Supporting parents through emotional journeys and advocating for their child’s needs.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you need:

  • Level 3 Early Years or relevant qualifications with knowledge of child development.
  • Experience working with pre-school children who have special/additional needs or developmental delays.
  • Understanding of partnership working with families and early years settings.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car, or ability to use public transport for visits.
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word.
