This role represents a wonderful opportunity for a devout and enthusiastic priest to serve in two thriving parishes in north Cumbria. Diocese of Carlisle's parishes are rural but located just a few miles from the border city of Carlisle and with excellent transport links.
Diocese of Carlisle is looking for a priest-in-charge who loves parish ministry, treasures the breadth of styles within the Church of England, and can see the extraordinary in the ordinary. Diocese of Carlisle aim to build on the strong missional and musical foundations already in place in Diocese of Carlisle's benefice as Diocese of Carlisle grow God’s Church together.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a broad range of liturgical styles, from traditional BCP and Common Worship services to informal cafe-style church.
- Utilize music (both choral and contemporary) in worship effectively.
- Empower and inspire laypeople in pastoral work, mission, and outreach.
- Work collegially with fellow clergy and laity in both parish and Deanery-wide mission community contexts.
- Engage actively with local communities and schools to nurture existing disciples and reach new ones.
