The Role

Arsenal Football Club is looking for a Performance Lifestyle Coach to work closely with players and coaches on Arsenal Football Club's Women's First Team to minimize concerns regarding issues that may compromise performance. This includes addressing mental, physical, social, career, and financial wellbeing.

In this exciting role, you'll form impactful partnerships to enable players to perform at their best and provide guidance on post-football career planning, as well as support their eventual transition out of football.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain impactful relationships with players: You'll take pride in helping players with career/life goal setting and managing personal activities.
  • Offer a dedicated support service: You will assist players coping with injuries and provide advice on time management.
  • Act as a trusted mentor and advisor: You will prioritize player wellbeing and help with development, relocation, and career pathways.
  • Co-create a performance wellbeing strategy: Help implement an effective wellbeing strategy throughout the Women's First Team.
  • Support players through transitional periods: Ensure a best-in-class induction for new players and positive transitions for outgoing players.
  • Champion Arsenal Football Club's players' academic and career ambitions: Work on career development plans and understand education commitments.
  • Partner with senior colleagues: Collaborate with the Head of Performance Services to utilize external support systems.
  • Uphold safeguarding and mental health requirements: Work to protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, supporting players' mental wellbeing.

What Arsenal Football Club is Looking For

  • Background in performance lifestyle coaching: Relevant academic background or industry experience is essential.
  • Credible expertise: A Level 3 Certificate in Athlete Personal Development (APDL) and a Degree in relevant fields like Sports Psychology.
  • An individual working towards a Master's level qualification: Further education in Mental Health, Wellbeing, or related fields.
  • Best-in-class communicator: Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships.
  • Exceptional organisational skills: Ability to manage and prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach: Willing to work weekends as needed.
  • Collaborative mindset: Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Additional certifications: Holding any of the following accreditations is a plus: UKAD Clean Sport Advisor or equivalent Certified training in Mental Health First Aid EMCC Level 7 Certificate in Counselling ILM Level 7 Certificate and Diploma for Executive and Senior Level
