Role Overview

The Principal Planning Sustainability Officer will be instrumental in helping both boroughs achieve net-zero carbon targets by 2043. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating compliance with climate change policies in the Local Plans.
  • Ensuring the delivery of net-zero development across Richmond and Wandsworth.
  • Upskilling the wider planning team on sustainability practices.
  • Leading sustainability assessments and providing technical guidance for optimal carbon savings.
  • Coaching and supervising junior officers in sustainability matters.
  • Evaluating planning applications and providing advisory support to Councillors.

About the Team
