About the Role

As Principal Social Worker, you’ll be a key member of Kirklees Council's Service manager leadership team, working across the district and reporting to the Head of Social Care Operations. This is more than just a leadership role; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of social work in Kirklees. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that Kirklees Council's social work teams deliver the highest quality services to adults across the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert leadership and professional oversight for adult social work services.

  • Lead on workforce development and nurturing a learning culture.
  • Be a key advisor on complex safeguarding cases, ensuring the highest standards of risk management and decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management and multi-agency partners to create integrated, person-centred services.
  • Lead initiatives that focus on innovation, policy implementation, and service transformation in line with national and local priorities.
