PE Teaching Assistant

Overview

This is a role for a school based at a welcoming & supportive special needs secondary school in the Salford area for pupils with additional needs.

• Starting ASAP on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday.
• Hours are 8:15am - 3:15pm.
• Could go permanent for the right person.
• Pay up to £95/day.

In this position, you will use your sports skills during PE lessons and sports interventions while also gaining new skills within the classroom environment supporting students. You will need to work closely with Teaching Assistants & Teachers to implement sports sessions to aid engagement, motivation, confidence, fun, and emotional resilience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing behavior and dealing with challenging situations.
• Encouraging and providing positive reinforcement to pupils.
• Being hard-working, collaborative, adaptable, and resilient.

This secondary special school caters to young people in KS3 & 4, aged 11-19, and is rated outstanding by Ofsted.

• Some experience supporting in PE or coaching/mentoring teenagers in sports.
• An enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to apply for one).
• Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
