Production Worker, Markets & Farm Operative

Overview

Fosse Meadows is looking for reliable, self-motivated, flexible individuals to join Fosse Meadows's pro-active team based on Fosse Meadows's free-range chicken farm in North Kilworth, Leicestershire. Fosse Meadows is an established high welfare farm and butchery. This is an active and diverse role with room for career growth in an innovative successful livestock & butchery business.

There are a number of roles available, essential skills are:

• Working in on farm abattoir two mornings per week.
• Preparing products and packing chicken, chicken portions & products for retail.
• Pressure washing, general cleaning of butchery, processing unit & outside areas.
• Keeping a tidy warehouse and yard.
• A good eye for detail and interest in keeping a tidy work space.
• Work efficiently, safely with a clean as you go mentality.
• Be reliable and committed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications would be any of the following:

• Knife skills for butchering chickens.
• Butchery experience on red meat, lamb, beef, pork.
• Food production experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Working on Avery scales system, with a good eye for detail.
• Quality control and compliance experience.
• Experience using a production software.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Commercial driving experience preferred.
• Working on Fosse Meadows's London market stall, setting up the stall, interacting with customers whilst selling, dismantle the stall at the end and driving back to the farm.
• An interest in livestock, produce or food.
• References preferable.

The role is 40+ hours per week, salary is dependent on experience. Fosse Meadows offer 28 days’ holiday to include bank holidays. Enrolment into Nest pension scheme. Fosse Meadows love food and hope you do too, so Fosse Meadows give a staff discount.
