In addition to making a positive impact on the lives of Cardiff Council's children, there are generous enhancements paid for evenings, weekend working, Bank Holidays and sleeping in duties, additional to your salary.

You will receive an additional salary enhancement of 30% after 8pm weekdays, 50% weekends and £40.80 per sleep in.

About the Job

Cardiff Council is looking to recruit to one of Cardiff’s new Children’s Homes currently being set up, you will be expected to work at this home and support other Children’s homes as needed.

It takes a special type of person to dedicate their career to supporting others. Your patience, empathy and caring nature would make you the ideal person to support individuals across Cardiff Council's homes.

Cardiff Council need staff members with a can-do attitude, that are willing to go above and beyond for the young people in their care.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing direct care and effective support to young people.
  • Helping children and young people achieve positive outcomes.
  • Supporting the education plans for children, including homework and other educational activities.
  • Participating fully in the caring and supported living environment.

As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will play an essential part in providing direct care and support to young people to enable them to achieve positive outcomes in line with their childcare personal plan.
