Kent County Council’s Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) Children’s Service is dedicated to providing accommodation and support to newly arrived UAS children in Kent. Kent County Council is excited to welcome passionate individuals to join Kent County Council's Reception Centre team at Acacia Court, which opened in July 2024. This newly established Reception Centre is located in a peaceful residential area, providing a safe environment for UAS children aged 16-17 years.
Acacia Court accommodates up to 32 children and is committed to supporting them as they navigate their initial stages in the UK. Kent County Council is looking for Reception Centre Workers who thrive in direct work, supporting young people in a residential setting. This role involves:
- Managing daily routines and setting achievable goals for residents.
- Facilitating a learning culture and fostering a sense of community.
- Assisting children in adapting to their new environment while providing emotional support.
This position requires flexible working across a rolling shift pattern, with alternating weekly shifts and weekend coverage. The role comes with various benefits:
