Job Summary
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for experienced staff from a health and leisure background to support Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust's new programmes of care. If you feel passionate about helping individuals regain their confidence following a change in their abilities, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust would love to hear from you. You will be supported by experienced hospital and community therapists and will follow guidance or complete assessments of individuals in their own or health care setting to maximize their return of function.
Full training and induction will be provided, you will receive regular 121s, be part of a new peer support programme, and be changing the way Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust deliver NHS services.

Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
- Implement and design rehabilitation programmes for individual patients and groups as advocated by Physiotherapists, including home exercise programmes.
- Assist and conduct exercise/rehabilitation classes both onsite and off, independently and with assistance of Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Assistants.
- Assist patients to complete exercise or rehabilitation programmes with physical assistance and/or guidance as required, such as practising standing from sitting or regaining confidence in walking.
- Advise reablement carers on the delivery of exercise programmes and appropriate progressions following reassessment.

Qualifications
Essential
- Full & Valid Driving Licence
- Level 2 Gym Instructor
- Level 3 or 4 Personal Training Diploma or equivalent
- First Aid Qualification
- Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals
- Appropriate Liability Insurance
- Otego qualification
- Equipment ordering and assessment training
- Proven delivery of community balance and falls prevention classes
Desirable
- Background in anatomy, biology, exercise physiology and sports biomechanics
- Broad range of other qualifications (Exercise To Music, Circuit Training, Resistance equipment and free weights, Obesity and Diabetes Management)
- Foundation degree in Health and Social Care
Experience
Essential
- Proven teaching experience
- Evidence of group and individual exercise instruction
- Experience in designing individual and group exercise programmes
- At least one year experience of fitness or sports coaching, or four years experience in delivery and providing rehabilitation support within a community or hospital setting
Desirable
- Experience working with complex patients in a community or home setting
- Keen interest in physiotherapy/occupational therapy rehabilitation or health care provision
