Reinsurance Pricing Actuary - Pricing & Innovation

Overview

The hyperexponential Pricing and Innovation team focuses on helping hyperexponential's customers achieve excellence in pricing through their use of hx Renew. hyperexponential examine pricing model deployment holistically, understanding best practices and enabling them across hyperexponential's customer base.

hyperexponential's ambition is to bring forward next-generation pricing and underwriting to today by combining advanced technology with a strong understanding of the business needs and challenges in the Specialty and Reinsurance markets. hyperexponential is constantly identifying potential spaces for innovation in the insurance sector that provide significant value to hyperexponential's customers, including partnerships with tech companies and innovative uses of the hx Renew platform.

Your mission

In this role, you will help shape what best-in-class pricing looks like in the Specialty and Reinsurance markets and support hyperexponential's customers to achieve this through their use of hx Renew. You will engage regularly with Underwriters and Actuaries to understand their pain points and structures, unblock them, and cast a vision for maximizing the value they gain from hyperexponential's platform. You will also drive innovation projects and ensure they are delivered to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert for hyperexponential's internal teams on Pricing in the Reinsurance and Specialty markets, providing input to hyperexponential's product team on the needs of Actuaries and Underwriters.
• Advocate in the Reinsurance and Specialty markets for the future of pricing and underwriting, helping customers achieve it today.
• Run Actuarial and Underwriter workshops to understand customer needs and advise on best practices in pricing, transformation, and underwriting processes.
• Build out assets around the platform to help customers leverage value from hx Renew faster.
• Work on targeted innovation projects with customers and tech partners to drive value and adoption of the hx Renew platform.

Experience and skills

• Expertise as a Pricing Actuary in the Reinsurance market.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of enabling positive change.
• Hands-on knowledge of Pricing model development across a variety of Reinsurance pricing methodologies.
• Strong technical aptitude for coding, data, analytics, and proven project management skills.
• A proactive mindset with a preference for taking on responsibility and moving projects forward.
• A passion for excellence in the insurance industry and a belief in the possibility of change.
