Overview

Croydon Council have an exciting recruitment opportunity for two Grade 6 Business Support Officers within the ASCH business support service. These roles are crucial in supporting the delivery of the Business Support model across all services within ASCH.

Croydon Council is seeking skilled and experienced business support officers who can provide essential support to teams dealing with vulnerable adults and their families across adult care, health, and housing services. These positions are demanding but equally rewarding, providing support to teams and direct telephone contact with customers and providers to resolve and guide on related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support across various teams within ASCH, likely including adult care and health and commissioning.
  • Ensuring accurate information is held and all relevant databases are maintained.
  • Processing high volumes of work with tight deadlines.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for customers, providing advice and guidance.
  • Preparing meeting information and producing minutes.
  • Managing generic mailbox enquiries.
  • Processing a high volume of invoices with meticulous verification.
  • Preparing and distributing documents for various services supported.
  • Providing cross-cover to all services supported by Business Support to ASCH.

Qualifications and Skills

You must have:

  • An understanding of working in a business support environment.
  • Experience in a large organisation.
  • Excellent skills in Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with databases; knowledge of LAS, Finance, and payment systems is an advantage.
  • The ability to advise customers and respond sensitively to all enquiries.
  • A high attention to detail and confidentiality in dealing with vulnerable customers.
  • Capability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritising skills.
