Team Members under 21 will be paid at £1.00 per hour less, which is significantly above National Minimum Wage guidelines for this age group
A little about South Moor Lodge: South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents.

Day to Day Responsibilities for Senior Care Assistant:
- As a Senior Care Assistant, you will provide the highest possible levels of care in supporting and assisting Jasmine Healthcare's residents in all aspects of daily living.
- You will also be responsible for promoting Jasmine Healthcare's residents’ independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect, alongside promoting their physical and emotional wellbeing and to give input during shift handovers.
- In this role you will be responsible for leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained, and other members of the team feel supported.
- You will complete the daily medication rounds and document consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits, as well as ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you will be responsible for leading.
- You will promote good practice in all aspects of care, and challenge poor practice from other team members, ensuring one-to-ones for all care and support team members are done every two months and investigating complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Essential Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:
- Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in residential/nursing home setting.
- Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
- To ensure knowledge is gained to demonstrate a good understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
- Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
Preferred Requirements for Senior Care Assistant:
- Two years’ experience in a similar role in a nursing home.
- At least one year’s experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home;
- At least two years’ experience in a Senior Care role in a residential or nursing home.
- One year experience of caring for residents living with dementia.
- NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above.
- Knowledge of National Care Standards Act 2000.
- Conducting effective person-centred One-to-Ones.
- Experience of managing a team.
