Overview

In this role, you'll help them become more independent, succeed in their education, and grow personally through various enjoyable activities in a safe environment. You'll collaborate closely with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure everyone's needs are addressed, making their transition to adulthood smooth.

Main Duties:

  • Direct work with young people, key working, and generally taking an active part in providing day-to-day care & support on a shift work basis.
  • Working in partnership with young people, their social worker, and other relevant agencies.
  • Co-ordinating, monitoring, and reviewing Care Plans for all allocated young people preparing for greater independence.
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's needs while on shift.
  • Administrative work and record keeping associated with key working responsibilities.
  • Ensuring young people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can.
  • Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Attending to daily needs, including bathing, feeding, and cooking.

Household Responsibilities:

  • Sharing in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.
  • Caring for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Being accountable for allocated funds.
  • Reporting repairs and ensuring actions are taken.

Personal Development:

  • Acting as a role model for young people.
  • Staying abreast of good practice to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Utilizing regular professional supervision.
  • Reporting malpractice to appropriate persons.

Additional Duties:

  • Carrying out other reasonable duties as requested by management.
  • Working shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Flexibility to work at other properties as directed by management.

This job description outlines the expectations for the role. You should be prepared to provide adequate DBS information and personal details to prove your identity. Enhanced DBS checks will be required before placement. Regular micro training will be provided, including 36 days of face-to-face training per year.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 CYPW or above.
  • Enhanced DBS Check, on the update service.
  • Ability to drive.
  • Smart and agile to manage daily needs of young people.
