About the Team

The dispatch/customer service team at Taunton is a small but highly efficient group, working collaboratively to support each other and the station.

About the Job

The purpose of this role is to dispatch trains safely and timely, manage the platform/train interface, assist customers, and ensure excellent platform management.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be:

• Providing excellent customer service.
• Managing the platform efficiently.
• Reporting faults and safety/security issues.

You’ll Need to Be:

• Able to provide excellent customer service.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Proficient in IT skills.
• A self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Competent in numeracy and literacy.
• Organizationally skilled.

As a Minimum, You Will Need:

• The ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• Evidence of numerical ability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a safety-critical environment.

Location

Taunton Station is busy, featuring a new multi-story car park and ticket office.

Working Pattern

This role involves shift work, including early, middle, and late shifts, with a 1 in 6 weekly rotation for night shifts. Shifts may start as early as 0500 and finish as late as 2359 on Saturdays.

Additional Information

This role has been created due to team expansion. Candidates will need to complete an online Situational Judgement Test and possibly a competency-based interview. Full training over three weeks will be provided.
