This opportunity has arisen through the promotion of current post holders. University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Employee Relations (ER) Advisor to join University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust's team.
The role focuses on providing comprehensive advice on a wide range of employment matters including employee relations. University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is looking for dynamic and proactive HR practitioners to join University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust's fantastic People Services team, supporting a range of Clinical and Corporate services across University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust's Trust, ensuring the provision of a high-quality and effective HR service to support and drive continuous and improved performance.
A key element of this role is to provide leadership and direction to the team, supporting complex cases, mentoring, and developing training.
Main Duties of the Job
Key responsibilities include:
Advice and Guidance
- Provide line managers and staff with professional, comprehensive, and timely advice on complex issues, including employee relations matters such as sickness management, performance management, and disciplinary issues.
- Advise and assist both managers and employees in the informal and formal resolution of grievances.
- Guide managers throughout the disciplinary process, including conducting investigations and preparing management cases.
- Represent People Services on panels regarding employee relations issues.
- Provide support for management of change issues, including advising on restructuring and redundancy matters.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with partners to support contract delivery.
Workforce Planning
- Collaborate with the Workforce Information team to ensure that relevant workforce data is available and utilized for decision-making.
- Analyze data and produce reports to support People Services' agenda.
Policies and Procedures
- Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures in line with legislation and best practices.
- Advise on the implementation of People Services policies to ensure consistent application.
Staff Involvement and Engagement
- Work with managers to develop a culture of healthy employee relations and effective partnership working.
- Assist managers in promoting the benefits of open and timely staff engagement.
Training and Development
- Design and deliver training programs on relevant People Services issues.
- Coach managers to develop their people management skills.
Line Management
- Supervise ER Advisers and support them in achieving their objectives.
- Mentor and coach ER Advisers to enhance their expertise.
