Send Learning Support Assistant

Overview

Provide Education is seeking a Send Learning Support Assistant within special schools in Grimsby. These schools educate children and young people aged 3-19 with severe and complex needs.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior staff within an agreed system of supervision, responding flexibly to the needs of pupils. As part of a specialist team, the Pastoral Care Workers play a crucial role in creating a stimulating, safe, and structured environment for pupils with complex needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing positive, productive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and promoting restorative practice.
• Supporting pupils with consistent, unconditional positive regard, identifying and responding to their individual needs.
• Using specialist SEN and behavior strategies, including Team Teach, to support self-regulation and de-escalation in accordance with school policies.
• Attending to pupils’ personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of relevant education, behavior, health, and support plans.
• Implementing planned interventions for both individuals and groups.
• Providing general administrative support, including monitoring and recording of behavioral incidents.
• Liaising sensitively and effectively with parents and carers.

Provide Education is looking for an experienced Pastoral Care Worker who can work confidently and effectively to support young people with additional needs. The successful applicant must have a valid Team Teach certificate or be willing to undertake training.

All candidates working through Provide Education must have a valid, Update Service registered DBS or be prepared to undertake a new DBS application through Provide Education.
