West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust's Cardiac Centre includes a CCU (Cardiac Care Unit), Cardiac Ward, Catheterisation Lab, and a Recovery area.
The Cardiac ward consists of 22 beds, with 7 equipped with bedside monitors, and is responsible for telemetry monitoring across the Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for Registered Nurses, particularly those interested in developing their skills in cardiology.
About the Role
As a Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Centre, you will rotate through various areas, gaining a diverse skill set and experience. You will take responsibility for delivering safe and effective care to multiple patients, supported by the ward's senior team. While previous cardiology experience is advantageous, West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust encourage candidates who are eager to learn and grow.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions using telemetry systems.
- Assist in procedures within the Catheterisation Lab.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from £29,970 to £36,483 per annum, pro-rata. West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust also offer flexible working patterns to promote a healthy work-life balance.
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- NMC Registration.
- Interest in ongoing professional development.
- BLS certification.
Desirable
- Post-registration cardiac course or willingness to undertake.
- Teaching qualification e.g., ENB 998.
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Acute general nursing experience.
- Interest in cardiac nursing.
Desirable
- Previous scrub nurse experience.
- Cardiology nursing experience.

Staff parking is available for individuals working outside core hours (07:00 - 18:30). Those working within these hours can access off-site parking with a shuttle service provided. Weekend workers and those on call are exempt from parking restrictions.
