Arsenal Football Club is seeking a to promote, embed, and deliver a safe and inclusive culture within Women's football, including Arsenal FC's Academy, Arsenal in the Community, and Arsenal FC's Commercial department. In collaboration with the Head of Safeguarding, you will play a vital role in the management, development, implementation, and review of systems to safeguard and protect children and young people involved in Women's football.
In this critical role, you'll act as the deputy for Arsenal FC's Head of Safeguarding, providing senior-level cover during their absence or when key responsibilities need to be delegated due to operational demand.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to key stakeholders: Ensure best practices and national standards for safeguarding are met through the Premier League Safeguarding Audits and FA Women’s Super League Compliance Report.
- Lead on all safeguarding investigations: Handle allegations of poor practice, serious incidents, or abuse, working directly with external bodies to achieve positive resolutions.
- Deliver safeguarding workshops: Conduct educational workshops for Academy colleagues.
- Attend AWFC Academy tours: Undertake risk assessments for trips and act as the Safeguarding Lead when necessary.
- Chair regular safeguarding meetings: Collaborate with Designated Safeguarding Officers to ensure issues and best practices are appropriately considered.
- Support the strategic objectives of Arsenal Women: Work with the Team Operations Manager and Player Care Manager to ensure safeguarding best practices are maintained.
- Support the Commercial department: Ensure adequate safeguarding resources and trained Designated Safeguarding Officers are in place.
- Handle complex risk assessments: Perform DBS risk assessment interviews and ensure regular reporting of safeguarding issues.
