Senior Scrub Practitioner

Overview

Join the Theatre Department at Kent and Canterbury Hospital as a qualified nurse or soon-to-be-qualified nurse. You will be a key member of a team dedicated to high standards of patient care across 18 theatres covering various specialties including Orthopaedics, Vascular, and Robotic surgery.

Main Duties

• Organise the unit and manage a designated area of practice daily.
• Provide managerial and clinical leadership.
• Develop staff and uphold care standards.
• Support risk management and health & safety processes.
• Participate in the allocation of staff and the on-call rota.
• Facilitate communication within the multi-disciplinary team.
• Monitor compliance with Trust Policies and National Guidelines.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

• Registered Nurse Qualification on NMC Register.
• Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.

Desirable

• Degree or equivalent experience.
• Facilitation/Coaching/Mentorship programme.

Clinical Skills & Experience

Essential

• Recent experience as Band 5 scrub practitioner.
• Experience in mentorship and clinical supervision.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Good communication skills with patients and staff.
• Understanding of clinical risk management.

Personal Attributes

Essential

• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Physically able to perform all clinical duties.
