The Governors of the school wish to appoint a temporary part-time SENDCo to start in the Spring term to cover the maternity leave of Bolton Council's permanent SENDCo. Bolton Council's SEND provision is a current strength of Bolton Council's school, and Bolton Council's new SENDCo will work alongside senior leaders and staff to continue to develop this crucial aspect of Bolton Council's provision.
The SENDCo Bolton Council would like to join Bolton Council will be:
- A qualified teacher with expert SEN knowledge and experience.
- Able to strategically manage the SEN provisions within Bolton Council's school.
- Ambitious and committed to their own professional development.
- A forward-thinker, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to inclusion, with high expectations for all students.
- Able to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, carers, and external agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shaping the school’s overarching SEND strategy working alongside other senior leaders to do so.
- Being an active member of the school’s Senior Leadership team.
- Having day-to-day responsibility for the coordination and record keeping of SEND provision to support individual pupils.
- Advising class teachers on strategies to support pupils, who may or may not have diagnosed SEND.
- Delivering or arranging for external CPD to all staff relating to SEND provision / developments.
- Liaising with parents/carers in line with the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
