North Yorkshire Music Service is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic music teacher specializing in Strings (preferably violin) at Skipton Music Centre.

Skipton Music Centre is a vibrant Saturday morning venue that offers musical activities for both children and adults across various instruments and genres. The new post holder will be responsible for conducting Strings instrumental lessons, focusing on musicianship and instrumental technique in small group settings. There is also an opportunity to lead or assist with North Yorkshire Council's Beginner Band, Concert Band, or Jazz Group, which involves arranging and teaching ensemble music for a diverse range of instruments.

Responsibilities

• Teach small groups of students in Strings lessons.
• Support young people at different stages of their musical journey.
• Contribute to the community of the music centre.
• Collaborate with the wider staff team.
• Lead or support ensembles such as bands or groups as needed.

Shift and Schedule

The position requires working 3.5 hours per week, specifically on Saturday mornings during term time only. Weekend availability is essential.

Salary and Benefits

The salary is set at £20,598 to £32,134 per annum, calculated pro-rata for the 30 sessions conducted each academic year (distributed over 52 weeks). Additional hours for concerts can be claimed as necessary.
