Overview

Carden Primary School is a friendly, welcoming two form entry mainstream primary school with a nursery. The school is very inclusive and has a strong, caring ethos enriched by pupils from a range of social and cultural backgrounds. Brighton & Hove City Council have provisions for children with statements or EHCPs for Speech, Language, and Communication needs from Reception to Year 6.

About the Role

Brighton & Hove City Council is looking for an Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to support children across the school. The successful applicant will:

  • Support pupils' learning, physical, social, emotional, and communication needs within the classroom and during social activities.
  • Have a good knowledge and experience of the needs of children with Special Educational Needs, such as ASC, Speech, Language and Communication difficulties, and cognition and learning.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team with professionals to maximize the pupils’ development and communication skills.
  • Be resilient and able to work independently, flexibly, and use their own initiative to respond to the children’s needs.
  • Be committed to inclusion and have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.

Working Hours

The role requires working 32.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.

Salary and Benefits

Salary for this position is £25,119 pro rata, and you will have paid weeks per year amounting to 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement). Brighton & Hove City Council offer a very rewarding and enjoyable position in an exceptionally warm and friendly environment.
