Overview

Rethink Mental Illness is looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to work as part of Rethink Mental Illness's Walsall Sanctuary Hub Team.

The Hub is a safe place to turn to for people and their carers who are in need of mental health support or in emotional distress during the evening and weekends.

Rethink Mental Illness's dedicated team are friendly, warm, enthusiastic, reliable, and responsive to individual needs. Rethink Mental Illness is all experienced and trained mental health recovery workers who provide person-centred support, taking a strength-based approach focusing on assets, independence, recovery, and social inclusion.

The service provides out of hours mental health support to people over the age of 18+ who live and have a registered GP in Walsall.

The hub is open 365 days of the year, Monday – Friday 6pm-11pm, Saturday & Sunday 12 noon – 11pm.

  • Rethink Mental Illness provide out of hours support to those who are in crisis or in need of support outside of usual mental health service hours.
  • Rethink Mental Illness's aim is to de-escalate and prevent crisis.
  • Rethink Mental Illness provide emotional support to anyone who finds themselves in distress, in need of reassurance or at times when you just want to be listened.
  • Rethink Mental Illness help clients identify coping strategies, so they are better able to cope.
  • Rethink Mental Illness signpost and refer clients to other services for additional support.

This may include:

  • Self-referral
  • Drop-in support
  • One-to-One support
  • De-escalation from crisis support
  • Provision of identifying coping strategies
  • Support group sessions
  • Peer support
  • Wellbeing workshops
  • Signposting and referrals

How you will make a difference:

The Team Leader will lead a team of up to 6 mental health recovery workers providing supervision, training and mentoring, offering a person-centred approach as part of the holistic recovery plan for mental health service users.

The Team Leader will manage a high-quality service that delivers positive outcomes for service users. You will work directly with all relevant stakeholders: clinical NHS staff, consultant psychiatrists and partner agencies.

Rethink Mental Illness offer people affected by mental illness with out of hours support, taking a strength-based approach focusing on assets, independence, recovery, and social inclusion.

You will collaborate with the following teams:

  • Service Users
  • Bank Support Workers / Support Workers
  • Volunteers
  • Service Manager
  • Local services
