The Childcare Works project is funded by the Ministry of Defence Armed Forces Families Fund, the Armed Forces Covenant Fund, and the Armed Forces Covenant. Only interest from partners of serving military personnel and partners of serving reservists will be considered.
National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is a national charity representing children’s day nurseries across the UK, providing information, training, and support. NDNA works with local and national government to foster quality early years education and care.
The Trainee Nursery Assistant will receive support from the NDNA Project Coordinator and be supervised in the assigned setting. The role includes a 4-week paid training program, delivered remotely, followed by a 12-week paid work placement in a childcare setting.
The post holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Main Duties:
- Support the care and early education of all children in the setting.
- Work effectively as part of a team, contributing ideas for the smooth operation of the setting.
- Facilitate communication between the setting, parents, and external professionals.
- Deliver activities suitable for each child’s age and developmental stage.
- Address personal and care needs of individual children as required.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Help with domestic tasks such as cleaning and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain confidentiality of information received.
- Uphold high standards and the nursery's reputation.
Specific Childcare Tasks:
- Prepare and complete activities tailored to each child's needs.
- Engage positively during mealtimes.
- Assist with washing and changing children as needed.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract (16 weeks)
Expected hours: 16 per week
