Overview

Alcester Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Music to join Alcester Grammar School's department and inspire Alcester Grammar School's students. This role offers the opportunity to raise aspirations and unlock the potential of students in all things musical.

About the Role

As a Music teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Years 7, 8, 9, and those students continuing their music studies at GCSE and A-Level. The music curriculum is designed to build technical expertise, develop understanding of music composition, and enable sophisticated musical responses as students progress.

The school has two fully equipped bespoke music classrooms, and the department regularly organizes and hosts performance opportunities for students throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver music lessons across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level
  • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning in every lesson
  • Support students with diverse abilities and needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Contribute to extracurricular music events and performance opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department's performance

Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good honours degree in a related subject
  • Passionate about teaching and music
  • Ability to teach music across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level
  • Attentive to the needs of students of all abilities
  • Willing to go above and beyond to ensure student progress
  • Commitment to safeguarding children’s wellbeing
  • Reflective approach to personal development and departmental improvement

Additional Information
