Technical Project Manager

Overview

NRL are working with an engineering company who specialise within the critical power sectors. The ideal candidate will be electrically minded and have an extensive knowledge of commercial/industrial electrical installations as well as on-site experience of communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

• Interpret project specifications
• Liaise with contractors to develop solutions
• Create quotations for proposals, upgrades and variations to works
• Read and interpret technical drawings
• Co-ordinate equipment orders & deliveries
• Follow project plans and validate project outcomes for sign-off
• Assist with the training of new electrical engineers

Keeping safety central, you’ll review Risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to work commencing and complete regular safety audits. To ensure the smooth running of your projects, you’ll coordinate with relevant departments to ensure all arrangements are in place, i.e. Labour, Equipment, Materials, Shutdowns, paperwork, permits etc., and attend multi-functional meetings as the department representative, providing regular progress reports to key stakeholders.

Skills and requirements:

• At least 3 years’ experience as an electrical installation engineer
• Practical understanding of Facilities, Utilities and Electrical systems work
• Ability to understand relevant technical specifications and drawings
• Experience of working in an industrial environment
• Good project management or organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills (written and spoken English)
• Good IT skills – including Microsoft Office; experience of MS Project, AutoCAD and other project management tools would be useful
