Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's team as a Therapy Technical Instructor in the Orthopaedics and Surgical wards. Your role will involve assisting the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering a high-quality service for patients. Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching patients exercise programmes
- Helping patients to walk and move
- Supporting patients with washing, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation
- Assisting therapists during treatment sessions
- Issuing mobility and functional equipment
- Performing administrative tasks
You should have previous experience in an acute care setting.
Main Duties of the Job
- Undertaking skilled support work to aid patient rehabilitation as delegated by therapists
- Accepting referrals from the Multi-disciplinary Team and relaying information to therapists
- Treating referred patients according to treatment protocols, monitoring progression, and making necessary alterations
- Daily evaluation and monitoring of work, with access to qualified staff available as needed
- Assisting with team administrative and clerical duties
- Maintaining competencies through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Education to GCSE or equivalent with grade C in English
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience
Experience

- Experience as a therapy assistant
- Evidence of teamwork
Desirable
- NHS working experience
- Acute hospital experience
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Working knowledge of common illnesses and conditions
- Good interpersonal skills
