Ward Manager - Ward 5/SEAC

Overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a full time dynamic patient focused Ward Manager on Ward 5 and SEAC at Furness General Hospital (FGH). Ward 5 is an 18 bedded acute surgical ward incorporating a 10 patient Surgical Emergency Ambulatory Care (SEAC) Unit, promoting early hospital discharge to allow patients to return for treatment.

Main duties of the job

• Provide visible and effective leadership throughout the Ward.
• Lead a busy acute Surgical ward with a Surgical Emergency Ambulatory Care unit.
• Develop and lead the Ward 5/SEAC team, fostering pride in their work.
• Work predominately Monday to Friday in an 80-20% supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrate reliable, flexible, and motivated work ethics.

Registered Nurse

Essential

• UK NMC Registration - 1st level registered nurse.
• Recent post basic clinical qualification in relevant clinical area.
• Mentoring/assessing qualification or Teaching qualification.

Desirable

• Recent leadership development or willingness to work towards a leadership qualification.

Experience at B6 Level

Essential

• 2 years experience.

Evidence of change

Essential

• Project initiatives and evidence of improving care.
