About the Role
The Welfare Officer for sanctuary in Barnet is dedicated to supporting sanctuary seekers, primarily focusing on Ukrainian guests through the Homes for Ukraine programme, with potential expansion to other groups. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive, strength-based assessments of individuals and families.
- Coordinating resources, support, and signposting for successful integration.
- Engaging with the community to identify current challenges and delivering initiatives to enhance the lives of sanctuary seekers.
About You
- Experience providing welfare services to refugees, migrants, or displaced persons.
- Knowledge of local community resources and partnership opportunities.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and ethical considerations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of social welfare systems and support services for refugees in the UK.
- Proficient in assessments, support plans, and monitoring progress.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent advocacy and communication skills.
