Warehouse Operative - Fixed Term Contract Seasonal Vacancies

Posted:Are you looking for a temporary role over the seasonal period? If so, Wincanton need you for Wincanton's fixed term contract roles, working in Wincanton's busy, state-of-the-art warehouse looking after peak orders for Wincanton's high-end retail customer, The White Company!
Wincanton have a number of fixed term contract roles available, lasting until January 2025. You can expect a fast-paced, busy warehouse with a culture of teamwork and success, along with lots of exciting engagement activities across the peak period.
Pay rates are £11.81 per hour plus shift premiums and overtime rates - equivalent addition of £2000 per annum for permanent night shifts, and rotating shift premiums are also available.
You’ll also be included in Wincanton's peak incentive scheme which will give you the opportunity to take home a bonus as well as your basic and overtime pay!
The site operates a 5 from 7 shift pattern, rotating 06:00 am - 14:00 pm and 14:00 pm - 22:00 pm weekly. There are also Nightshift opportunities - 22:00 pm - 06:00 am. You’ll be given your rota for the duration of your role after induction to plan your shifts in advance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Wincanton prioritises safety and Wincanton need like-minded individuals to ensure safe working practices are observed.
- Picking, inspecting and/or packing and recording to customer instructions using electronic scanners or manual pick sheets.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team while carrying out warehouse tasks as directed.
- Ensure the operation meets customer service requirements and site KPIs.
- Maintain accuracy in pick rates and productivity.
- Fulfil housekeeping and maintenance duties to uphold site standards.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
- Identify areas of improvement in the working environment.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Performance Measures:
- Accuracy: Perform tasks accurately.
- Productivity: Meet task completion levels set by supervisors.
- Timekeeping: Ensure punctuality.
- Effective communication with management regarding task issues.
- Stay updated on current policies via noticeboards.
- Meet KPIs on Picking & Packing.
Skills & Experience:
- Basic English language skills.
- GCSE level maths is advantageous.
- Knowledge of warehouse systems.
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
