About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Council to join Tower Hamlets London Borough Council's Women’s Resource Centre team as a support officer and work with the Women’s Resource Centre Lead to drive Tower Hamlets London Borough Council's ambitions for the Centre based in Whitechapel.

Due to the nature of this work, this post is restricted to females only, under a Genuine Occupational Qualification as defined by the Equalities Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, part 1.

The postholder will be required to work with vulnerable women day-to-day and ensure they are welcomed and feel safe within the centre.

You will play a visible role working with service users and partners to deliver services from Tower Hamlets London Borough Council's new Women’s Resource Centre to ensure it achieves priority outcomes and strategic objectives.

About you

You will have experience of working in a front-line service and engaging with customers and partners to ensure services are accessible and engaging for a diverse range of users, improving their outcomes. You will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the complex and multiple needs faced by marginalised women in Tower Hamlets.
  • Experience of working with women, especially vulnerable and marginalised women.
  • Experience of partnership work with multiple stakeholders.
  • The capacity and interest to learn new skills and take a proactive approach to solving problems.
