Speech and Language Therapist
Croydon Youth Justice Service (YJS) are now recruiting for a highly qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to work within the YJS Education Training and Employment (ETE) Team, supporting the delivery high quality speech and language therapy with the ability to screen, assess, diagnose, treat, and discharge young people referred with speech, language, communication needs; ensuring the SLT intervention plans are integrated within YJS reports and assessment, working in partnership the local authority, NHS England, schools, colleges and training providers contributing to assessments as required.
To work as a member of the YJS, to provide an efficient, effective, and co-ordinated Speech and Language Therapy Service to children and young people aged 10 - 17 known to the YJS. The role requires an ability to assess, diagnose and treat/manage interventions ensuring that programmes are integral to children’s education and development.
Candidates should have experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapist with an understanding of working with young people from diverse backgrounds, some of which have complex and special educational needs.
In addition to your experience, you will have the drive and passion to deliver positive outcomes for our children and young people in Croydon.
To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated, a clear communicator and must have the ability to build strong relationships with our families, education providers and other external partners and stakeholders.
